QUEZON CITY — The Philippine Science High School System-Office of the Executive Director (PSHSS-OED) had its first Quality Management Review (QMR) on December 19-21, 2017 held at the PSHS Main Campus in Agham Road, Quezon City.
The QMR sought to look into the status of actions executed by the OED in connection with the internal quality audit (IQA) implemented. These include the changes made in the external and internal issues identified relevant to the Quality Management System (QMS), as well as its performance and effectiveness.
Specific trends in the QMS were also discussed, which cover the customer satisfaction and their feedback, quality objectives met, non-conformities vis-à-vis corrective actions, audit results, and reviews on effectiveness of actions taken, among others.
The OED identified the organizational outcome, strategic priorities, performance indicators, risks, and actual accomplishments of the office based on the DOST Point Agenda, which is the “collaboration with industry, academe, and international institutions.”
During the QMR, the Quality Policy and OPCR of the OED were likewise reviewed, which were found to remain suitable for the institution.
Quality Management Representatives (QMRs) from the PSHS campuses also participated in the meeting, led by the OED QMR Ms. Ma. Concepcion Sakai, Finance and Administrative Division head of OED.
PSHS System has been conducting a series of quality management review sessions in its campuses across the country. The initiative seeks to ultimately have a quality service to PSHSS’ stakeholders, while knowing the importance of applying the QMS based on ISO 9001:2015.
