PSHS System to start accepting applications for Grades 8 and 9 starting June 15
Premier science high school education begins at DOST-PSHS.
The Philippine Science High School (PSHS) System will begin accepting online applications for Grades 8 and 9 transferees for School Year 2021-2022 through its PSHS - Lateral Admission Qualifying Exam (LAQE) from June 15 to July 30.
Students who have finished Grade 7/Grade 8 (under the high school curriculum or the new K-12 curriculum) outside of the PSHS System may be allowed admission/entry to the PSHS, provided they fulfill the following requirements: (1) a Filipino citizen with no pending application as immigrant to any foreign country; (2) belongs to the upper 5% of his/her class or should have a grade of 85% and above in all subjects; (3) should have a character rating of at least Very Satisfactory (VS) or its equivalent; and (3)
must pass the qualifying examination in each of the following three (3) subjects: Mathematics, Science, and Communication Arts (English).
The examination is on August 24.
Applicants must submit the following on or before July 30, 2021 to the nearest PSHS Campus: (1) an accomplished application form which includes certification from parents of no pending application for immigration in any foreign country; (2) certification from the present school enrolled in, regarding academic grades and character rating (included in the application forms); (3) a photocopy of the student’s report card, with the original copy brought along for verification purposes; (4) two (2) recent 1x1 pictures; and (5) a non-refundable processing fee of Php300.00.
To minimize exposure to the novel coronavirus, applicants may download the application form from https://www.pshs.edu.ph/ and email the duly accomplished application form to the campus where they will be applying.
Applicants can also submit the hard copy of the application form to the campus registrar and pay the processing fee to the campus cashier.
PSHS will no longer issue a LAQE test permit since the exam is online. The Admissions Office and/or the campus registrar shall email to applicants the LAQE details to access the online exam.
In 2020, the PSHS System Admissions Office conducted the LAQE through a synchronous online test.
