The Philippine Science High School System stirs the journey of its students’ research projects into viable commercial products and services for public use.
Last week, in an Intellectual Property Masterclass (IPMC) co-organized with the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD), teachers, licensing officers and science research associates from the 16 PSHS campuses convened to develop a technology transfer framework for the PSHS System.
This meeting in Los BaΓ±os, Laguna kicked off the 2-year project with DOST PCAARRD of Developing Technology Transfer Capacity of the Philippine Science High School System in keeping up with their shared commitment to foster creativity amongst STEM students, protect intellectual assets, and provide science-based solutions for real-word problems in agri- aqua- culture and climate change. IPMC will run from June to July 2023.
By taking the necessary steps into commercializing research projects, PSHS empowers its students to contribute to the country’s research agenda, food security, livelihood, climate resilience, and sustainable environment goals.
