Executive Director Lilia T. Habacon emphasized that collaboration leads to excellent performance in her inspirational message during the virtual opening program of the 29th Founding Anniversary of the Philippine Science High School – Western Visayas Campus (PSHS-WVC) earlier today.
“Collaboration is also a pathway to excellence because it speeds up solutions to problems. With our partners in providing excellent government service, we must never cease to look for ways to foster it within ourselves and within the PSHS System, both traditional and virtual, here and abroad,” said Habacon.
With the theme: “Strengthening community partnerships and pursuing excellence amidst the pandemic”, the Pisay campus in Iloilo City has forged numerous partnerships with government and private agencies to deliver quality services to its stakeholders.
According to Habacon, through teamwork, WVC has remained a place where services, supports, and opportunities lead to sustained excellent student learning, stronger professional relationships, and increased community linkages towards partnerships for excellence.
“Your cooperation and professionalism are very much needed to cope with relevant institutional adjustments. Your unity and collaboration shall serve a potent force to move forward while creating relevant programs, complying to standards of excellence, achieving greater heights, and sustaining new processes and mechanisms that meet the needs of the times,” said Habacon.
The dedication and blessing of infrastructure projects and ground breaking for the rehabilitation of its multi-purpose building highlight this year’s founding anniversary celebration.
“When we build and strengthen partnerships, we create an institution that is vast and more competent, talented, and experienced. With the pandemic, virtual collaboration minimizes or even eliminates the need for expensive finances and infrastructure,” Said Habacon.
PSHS-WVC has also organized a talent show, tree planting, and an outreach program, along with a recognition program in honor of its campus pride and achievers.
“Partnership is a form of collaboration that serves as a mirror that gives us a glimpse of our strengths and weaknesses. Collaboration, as a 21st Century skill, makes us see a bigger picture of what we do and the future directions we ought to take,” added Habacon.
